I SAW HIM AGAIN
I saw him again
Arms raised open wide
Like a patriarch’s plea for rain.
Face grins smooth radiant hide
Looks innocent, eyes bright
Sunlit by day, neon light night.
I saw him again
Better morrow he assured all,
Lips thick, utterance vain.
At the wake of khaki falls!
For mandate he calls with placards raised.
Weapon terror, deeds corrupt
Yet for one more terms he begs.
I saw him again
Bloody knave, desperate for state tool.
But we are no fools,
Laborers plight he forsook
Dilapidated road and structures I look,
In expensive convoys he moves
Leaving behind trails of blood and tears
We are no fools
Let us rise to oust him,
So that we see him no more.
